Woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry

10 SEPTEMBER (Lk 6,20-26)

Every human action produces a fruit for time and for eternity. Time and eternity are the result of our choices, decisions and operations. God has placed in our hands time and eternity, good and evil, justice and injustice, heaven and hell, blessing and curse, life and death. The eternal responsibility of the choice is up to a man. Everyone might go towards the good or the evil. However, the result will never be the same.

Today, this ontological truth is lacking to a man. He is completely deprived of it. Everybody pretends to act like he feels best, without even considering the fruits that necessarily, ontologically his saying and his doing will produce. He wishes he had some words and actions without any fruit and any consequences. There are even also those who think that the fruit can be prevented, leaving the tree to grow and bear fruit at will. We complain about the countless deaths that daily cover the world with blood, but they applaud and hosanna the tree that produces them.

This is true stupidity, ignorance, loss of any sound and holy wisdom, rationality and intelligence. Every tree produces according to its nature, its essence, according to its ontology. If you want good fruit, you must plant good trees. Nobody in his right mind might ever think that planting brambles can gather grapes or figs, or other edible fruits. Why do then we cultivate immorality, legalize it, declare it real need for freedom and then from it we want to gather fruits of life? Who sow immorality collects death. Who sows truth gathers fruits of life. Who sows virtue will reap good wheat and might satiate himself and be fed. Virtue gives life. Vice kills. Wisdom saves. Foolishness sends to ruin.

Before men are the beatitudes and woes, blessings and curses, life and death, poverty and wealth, joy and tears, hunger and satiety. Jesus says to those who today are listening to him, to remain in poverty, in sorrow and in hunger. However, always as right, virtuous people, observant of the commandments and perennial listeners of his Word. The acceptance of their life of spiritual misery will turn into an eternal joy. Not only in the hereafter this infinite joy will be manifested for them, even on earth they will be filled of every blessing from the Lord their God. It is necessary to always remain in he truth, in the virtues, in the observance of the holy Law of God. Never must one pass into injustice, stupidity and foolishness.

And raising his eyes toward his disciples he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way. But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep. Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.

The satiated, the rich, the pleasure seekers, the arrogant, who puts his trust in the things of this world are also advised. Wealth, satiety, ephemeral laughter will be transformed into poverty, hunger and eternal crying. This will happen because they have made an instrument of pure selfishness of these ephemeral and fleeting goods. One has to make of every good bestowed by God only an instrument of love, sharing, solidarity and well-being for all. If a man shares with his brothers the goods of this world, God will share with him the eternal goods. Being the worldly goods highly perishable, they do not even assure an earthly future. He is a wretch who puts his trust in the things of this world. They are like a fire of stubble. They shine for a moment. Then it all comes down to ashes. With speed they come and with speed they go.

Virgin Mary, Mother of the Redemption, Angels and Saints give us the wisdom of the heart.
