Where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth

30 AUGUST (Mt 25,14-30)

The present life of a man and even his eternal future is placed by God into the hands of every single person. One of our gestures leads to death and another one brings him port to prosperity, well-being and abundance. An act of ours leads us to war and another to peace. The Lord affirms it with divine clarity: “Before you I place fire and water, you stretch your hand where you want.” The future is all in our science, wisdom, intelligence, discernment and obedience to the Word of the Lord. If this truth is forgotten, the future will only be misery both in time and in eternity.

Life is the first talent that the Lord gave to every man. It should be made fruitful with all wisdom, intelligence, will in faith, hope, charity, making use of the four cardinal virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance. If it is not brought to ripen all fruit of goodness, in the purity of a total obedience to the will of God, it is not suitable for the kingdom of heaven. It is a dead life that will end in eternal death. Life with life. Death with death. Light with light. Darkness with darkness. Of every other gift received the Lord wants the fruit. Even of the smallest talent, the smallest gift of grace we need to give the fruit to God

“It will be as when a man who was going on a journey called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them. To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one – to each according to his ability. Then he went away. Immediately the one who received five talents went and traded with them, and made another five. Likewise, the one who received two made another two. But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and buried his master’s money. After a long time the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them. The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, ‘Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’ (Then) the one who had received two talents also came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me two talents. See, I have made two more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’ Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a demanding person, harvesting where you did not plant and gathering where you did not scatter; so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground. Here it is back.’ His master said to him in reply, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I did not plant and gather where I did not scatter? Should you not then have put my money in the bank so that I could have got it back with interest on my return? Now then! Take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten. For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And throw this useless servant into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’

Reading with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit what the Lord reveals to us today, we have to denounce a grave mistake that today governs our society. Everyone wants to do everything. All think they are capable of anything. Everyone must respect his own life instead. He cannot give it a weight that it might never endure. Never might he because he is lacking in the gift, the necessary charisma to succeed in the prearranged work. Another serious mistake is the neglect of vital sectors for the life of all in the name of a cultural elevation that will, then, never be fulfilled because of lack of that particular aptitude for the study and immersion in scientific, philosophical, or just classic subjects.

A radical change of mentality is urgently needed. A great conversion to one’s truth, gift, grace and talent is needed. As is a buried talent devoid of life, so it will be another one that is brought out of its truth. If we had the humility of repenting everyone to their natural and supernatural truth we would give every man fruits of true life. Today, society is in great pain and it is because of the freedom that everyone takes of conceiving his life apart from God, apart from his will and his grace. Every error is a cause of death.

Virgin Mary, Mother of the Redemption, Angels and Saints give us true conversion.
