Because they have not known either the Father or me

The lack of knowledge of God is the true drama of humanity, not only of today, but of always. Who must give the world the true knowledge of God, are the Apostles of the Lord. This is why they were chosen and sent: to give every man the true Christ in whom also the true God is given. If the true Christ is not given, never might the true God be given. This is the true mission of the Church: giving Christ to the world according to truth.

For this reason I left you in Crete so that you might set right what remains to be done and appoint presbyters in every town, as I directed you, on condition that a man be blameless, married only once, with believing children who are not accused of licentiousness or rebellious. For a bishop as God’s steward must be blameless, not arrogant, not irritable, not a drunkard, not aggressive, not greedy for sordid gain, but hospitable, a lover of goodness, temperate, just, holy, and self-controlled, holding fast to the true message as taught so that he will be able both to exhort with sound doctrine and to refute opponents. For there are also many rebels, idle talkers and deceivers, especially the Jewish Christians. It is imperative to silence them, as they are upsetting whole families by teaching for sordid gain what they should not. One of them, a prophet of their own, once said, “Cretans have always been liars, vicious beasts, and lazy gluttons.” That testimony is true. Therefore, admonish them sharply, so that they may be sound in the faith, instead of paying attention to Jewish myths and regulations of people who have repudiated the truth. To the clean all things are clean, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is clean; in fact, both their minds and their consciences are tainted. They claim to know God, but by their deeds they deny him. They are vile and disobedient and unqualified for any good deed (Tt 1,5-16).

The true Christ donated gives the true God. The true God accepted gives the true man. Where the true God does not reign, because the true Christ was not given, the false man lives, the man that not knowing God, stifles the truth in unrighteousness, declares good the most immoral and most harmful and destroying abominations of the entire humanity. Where there is not the true God, never might there be a real man, there; never. Where there is not the true Christ, there is not the true God, there; never.

The wrath of God is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them. Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse; for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened. While claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes. Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts for the mutual degradation of their bodies. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen (Rm 1,18-25).

Where there is not the true God, there are always the martyrs of the truth, there. Who worships the idols of his mind and his heart always rails against the givers of the true Christ in order to kill, destroy and silence them. Martyrdom is the most striking result of ignorance of God that governs a people. Since the martyrdom of Christ is the result of two people: the people of the Jews and the one of the Romans, the one and the other lived in ignorance of the true God. However, we are dealing with guilty ignorance, at least on the part of the people of the Jews, because they possessed the true Scriptures and heard the true voice of God in Jesus.

“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning. “I have told you this so that you may not fall away. They will expel you from the synagogues; in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering worship to God. They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me. I have told you this so that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you.
