An enemy has done this
26 JULY (Mt 13,24-30)
The parable of the tares is the masterpiece of divine wisdom. This, in a nutshell essential, describes the entire life of the kingdom of God on earth. Life of yesterday, today and tomorrow. If we understand this parable well, we will give truth not only to our lives, but to our entire apostleship. We will know how to move and how to act. We will try to illustrate this parable through some very simple truths.
First truth: the kingdom of God is born sowing the good seed of the word in the field of God which is in the heart of man, which is the world, which is also his Church, which are all of existing communities, large and small. The field must always be sown with the good seed of the Word. If seeding is omitted, the field is no longer God ‘s. It is of the weeds and thorns of vices and sins, of transgression and evil works.
Second truth: in the same heart, in the same field, in the same church, in every aspect of her life, in every small or large community, in small and large religious orders, in small and large congregations, in every group, movement, association, in every parish and diocese, tares will always be sown. This will always find fertile vegetation in the field of the Lord.
Third truth: let no one be deceived that his community, his parish, his diocese, his religious order, his movement, his association are made of only saints, only pure, only innocent, only martyrs, only men and women, boys and girls of proven moral exemplarity. There is good and there is evil, there is the saint and there is the sinner, there is a righteous and there is the wicked, ruthless, cruel and without the heart. This cohabitation will last until the end of the world.
Fourth truth: let no one think to find a pastoral of reception of evil in God’s field. Evil always remains evil. From evil to good you go by conversion, by faith into the Gospel. You pass by uprooting the weeds from your heart and leaving space only to the good seed of the word of the Lord. A pastoral that somehow were to legalize evil, to give it the right to citizenship would be detrimental to the Word. Word and anti word, gospel and anti gospel are not the same thing. Nor might the anti gospel be ever disguised making it pass as Gospel. The good must be said good. The evil must be said evil. Justice must be proclaimed justice and injustice is injustice.
He proposed another parable to them. “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. The slaves of the householder came to him and said, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.”‘”
Fifth rule: The Lord will make the separation at the time of death and at the end of the world. The Angels of God will be the ones to separate the good grain from the chaff. It is up to them to transfer the good grain in the granaries of the Father while assigning the place into everlasting fire to the weeds. What is up to each man, to the shepherds and to those who are the farmers of this field of God? It is their duty to always sow the good seed of the Word and grace. Everything else belongs to God. It must be left to him. Today, a very sad thing is happening: in the field of God the sowers of the good seed have changed bag. Instead of wearing the bag of the good seed, many have worn the bag of weeds. This is the true evil that plagues the Church of all times: the sowers of good seed that become sowers of discord.
Virgin Mary, Mother of the Redemption, Angels and Saints make us sowers of good seed.
