And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me
3 OCTOBER (Lk 10,13-16)
The gift of God, every gift of God, must produce fruits of eternal life. This law applies to both material and spiritual gifts. If the earth produces, its fruit, whether in large quantity or in small measure, it must necessarily produce eternal life. Otherwise its use is sinful. It is not according to the willof God. It produces eternal life, if it is shared with the poor and needy. If the fruit of the earth does not get transformed into charity, alms, supportof the brothers, it becomes a way of death, because it imprisons man in his selfishness, rather than making him a person of great openness to others.
Today many are those who consider the fruits of their labour their exclusive work. They do not see God behind their commitment, their effort, their diligence and industriousness. God is the Master Agent of everything that takes place on our earth. It is He who infuses intelligence, wisdom, insight, diligence, zeal and determination. It is he who opens the mind to inventions, innovations, updating, to find all the different ways that help man to live in anever new today, rather than in an always old, off-course past, out of the current needs of his brothers. Being God is the Master Agent it is right that He is given his fruit and it is given to Him by giving to his poor. So the goods of the earth produce eternity. If they only produce materiality, their use is not in accordance with the rules. It’s a selfish use of eternal death.
This law also applies to every other gift that the Lord bestows on us. Jesus comes and works miracles and wonders. Every miracle, every wonder, every help made by Jesus to a man’s body must produce a fruit of eternal life. How does he produce it? Through faith in His Person. Jesus is the true Sent, the true Messiah, the true Prophet, the true Saviour, the true Redeemer and the true Lord. Being he the true Word of the Father, from the miracle it is necessarily urgent to switch to the conversion. One accepts the Gospel of Jesus, he lives it fully, this fruit of true faith is produced, he gets on his waytoward eternal life, he becomes a part of the Kingdom of God. On the contrary, if you take only the miracle, you place yourself out of the law of the gift. The miracle becomes an instrument of eternal death and condemnation forever. Jesus does not come for the present of our body. He comes for the present of our soul, of our spirit and for his eternal future.
Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. And as for you, Capernaum, ‘Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.'” Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.
The miracle must be lived according to all the purposes which it contains. It is a sign of true faith in the Lord Jesus. This is the purpose for whichHe works miracles: to give a strong sign of his truth, and of the truth of God, of the Father, that is with Him, that is in Him. Jesus is the true Giver of the Word of the Father. This is given by Him in its purest, most holy and most true essence. It is in its completeness, fullness, entirety andwholeness. Really nothing must be added and nothing removed from it. The Word of Jesus gives truth, life, salvation, redemption, fulfillment toevery other Word of God previously uttered, preached and prophesied.
A miracle that does not open to the mystery of the Lord Jesus is dead in itself and also produces a fruit of eternal death. The miracle must generate the true faith in the heart, it must open the mind to the truth, it must lead the spirit to a true, real and permanent conversion. It must bring the mind to see a perfect unity among the disciples, Christ and the Father. The Word of the Father is the Word of the Lord Jesus. The Word of the Lord Jesus is the Word of the disciples. The Word of the disciples is the Word of the Father. In the disciples Christ is welcome, in Christ the Father is welcome. This is the fruit of the true miracle.
Virgin Mary, Mother of the Redemption, Angels and Saints give us true faith in Jesus.
